Prominent Western right-wing figures have convened in Moscow for the “Future Forum,” a two-day event organized by the Tsargrad Institute. The forum aims to disseminate Russian state ideology and an ultraconservative, neo-imperialist vision to an international audience, The Moscow Times reports.

Key themes included “The Multipolar World of the 21st Century,” “Transmission of Values to Generation Beta Through Content,” “Harmonious Balance 2050: Meeting the Future — A Woman’s Perspective,” “Great Eurasia 2050,” and “Ideology and Traditional Values.”

Hosted by the Tsargrad Institute, founded by businessman Konstantin Malofeev and led by ideologue Aleksandr Dugin, the forum featured speakers such as Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, right-wing influencer Jackson Hinkle, American economist Jeffrey Sachs, British politician George Galloway, and Errol Musk, father of Elon Musk. The Tsargrad Institute positions itself as a conservative think tank, blending right-wing views with an Orthodox religious mission.

“Only Under Conditions of Autocracy”

The forum coincides with the release of the Tsargrad Institute’s report on its vision for Russia until 2050, which contains a series of extremely conservative political proposals aimed at aligning Russia with their worldview. The report claims that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, marked a “new era of regional world order.”

“By launching the Special Military Operation and openly challenging Western hegemony, Russia entered a struggle not only for its own sovereignty but also for every country’s right to its own development, culture, and religion,” the report states.

The report explicitly asserts that Russia must be an autocracy if it is to succeed, drawing on interpretations of the reigns of Ivan the Terrible, Peter the Great, Joseph Stalin, and other Russian and Soviet leaders to justify this claim.

“The Russian Idea” and “Third Rome”

The Tsargrad Institute’s report posits that Russia is a special civilization entrusted by God with a spiritual and historical mission. Referencing 19th-century Russian philosopher Vladimir Solovyov, it states: “The idea of a nation is not what it thinks of itself in time, but what God thinks of it in eternity.”

The report invokes the imperial-era concept of Russia as the “Third Rome” – an idea now used to justify Moscow’s geopolitical ambitions over the so-called “Russian World” – and calls for the “gathering of historically Russian lands,” which includes Ukraine. It suggests that Russia must dismantle the “artificially created ‘Ukrainian nation’” and restore its historical memory as an inseparable part of Russian civilization.

“Higher Purpose” for Women and Family Policy

In the section on family policy, the report states: “Russian women should see the main goal of their life and the highest fulfillment of their service in giving birth to and raising children.” In Tsargrad’s ideal future, 85% of children would be born to mothers under 23, the divorce rate would be below 10%, fewer than 3% of children would be born out of wedlock, and abortion would be almost entirely eliminated.

As part of measures to encourage early childbirth, the report proposes that women be exempt from further births after their third child. It also cites an example from the Russian Empire period, where, according to this interpretation, the main vocation of a woman was “marriage, motherhood, and household chores.”

Musk, Galloway, Lavrov and Others in Attendance

One of Monday’s main events was a panel discussion titled “The Multipolar World in the 21st Century.” The panel featured speakers such as Lavrov, Galloway, Russian state television host Dmitry Symes, former CIA and U.S. State Department analyst Larry Johnson, and others.

In his address to the assembly before Errol Musk’s speech, Malofeev thanked Elon Musk for showing the world that “we can have a common future” based on “what is happening in space.”

Malofeev then presented several typical anti-Western theses from Moscow: that the war in Ukraine would end with a “new Yalta” between Moscow and Washington; that the Russian and American people have a common future thanks to the election of Donald Trump; that Trump’s re-election prevented a world war; and that only the “corrupt” U.S. Democratic Party benefited from the conflict between the two countries.

Errol Musk, who has previously expressed admiration for Putin, showered Moscow with praise. “Moscow is like Rome to me, the most beautiful city,” the elder Musk said. “I am very surprised that Russia is portrayed as an enemy, even though it is trying to be part of the European community. This is being denied to it. Russia saved Europe twice – from Napoleon and from Hitler. How can you continue to portray Russia in a negative light?

Musk also downplayed his son’s conflict with the U.S. president, saying it stemmed from “fundamental disagreements between him and certain White House officials over federal spending.”

The forum continues today with discussions featuring Jackson Hinkle, George Galloway, and Alex Jones.
