Acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, met on Thursday with Burcu San, Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Operations at NATO, to discuss Kosovo’s security situation, challenges, achievements, and ongoing cooperation with NATO through the alliance’s Advisory and Liaison Team.

During the meeting, Maqedonci emphasized that Kosovo aims to join the North Atlantic Alliance. He highlighted that the Kosovo Security Force (FSK) continues to develop according to NATO standards, focusing not only on armament systems but also on professional military training in line with partner nations’ doctrines.

He further noted that FSK’s participation in the Interflex mission with the United Kingdom and the Demining Coalition, aimed at training Ukrainian troops in the fight against Russian aggression, demonstrates Kosovo’s commitment to Euro-Atlantic democratic policies and reflects the high level of professional responsibility and capability comparable to other NATO forces.
