Kosovo’s Ministry of Internal Affairs will mark the third anniversary of the death of Kosovo Police Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku with a series of commemorative events in Vushtrri, Zvečan and Prishtina.
The activities will begin at 10:00 with a visit to the family of Afrim Bunjaku in Samadrexhë, Vushtrri.
At 10:40, tributes will be paid at Bunjaku’s grave, also in Samadrexhë.
Later, at 12:00, the foundation stone for a memorial obelisk dedicated to the Kosovo hero will be laid in Banjska, Zvečan, at the site where Bunjaku was killed.
The commemorative events will conclude in Prishtina at 20:00 with a memorial academy at the Red Hall of the Palace of Youth.
Afrim Bunjaku was killed in the September 24, 2023 armed attack in northern Kosovo, carried out by an armed group led by Milan Radoičić. Bunjaku was killed while serving in the Kosovo Police during the attack in Banjska.
