Kosovo Police units specialized in fighting organized crime are currently carrying out raids in multiple locations across northern and southern Mitrovica, focusing on the illegal smuggling of weapons and ammunition.
The operation has been confirmed by Kosovo Police, who stated that the crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities related to arms trafficking.
Coordinated Operation Across Two Regions
A police spokesperson stated that the operation began early Wednesday morning in coordination with relevant institutions.
“We can confirm that early this morning, Kosovo Police, in cooperation and coordination with competent institutions, launched a police operation covering two regions—Mitrovica South and Mitrovica North. The operation aims to combat criminal activities, particularly the smuggling of weapons and ammunition,” the statement read.
Authorities have not disclosed further details yet, but additional information is expected to be released once the operation concludes.
