President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received the Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See to Kosovo, Luigi Bianco, during his first official visit to the country.
President Osmani welcomed Nuncio Bianco to his new role and expressed confidence that his visit would further strengthen relations between Kosovo and the Holy See.
In a statement from the Presidency, Osmani highlighted the significance of Kosovo opening its Mission to the Vatican, calling it a key milestone in bilateral relations. She reiterated her belief that the recognition of Kosovo’s independence will continue to deepen ties with the Vatican.
During their meeting, Osmani recalled her previous visit to the Vatican and her special audience with Pope Francis, describing the conversation as a pivotal moment in fostering friendship and mutual respect between Kosovo and the Holy See.
The President emphasized Kosovo’s ongoing commitment to cooperation with the Holy See under Pope Leo’s leadership, focusing on peace, interfaith dialogue, and the promotion of universal values of solidarity and humanism.
