Prishtina – Kosovo’s Special Prosecution has confirmed the arrest of a Serbian national, identified as D.R., on suspicion of committing war crimes against the civilian population during the 1999 Kosovo war.
The prosecution stated that D.R. is accused under Article 142 of the former Yugoslav Criminal Code, which was in force at the time of the alleged crimes. The suspect is believed to have been involved in war crimes in the Gjakova region.
D.R. has been placed under a 48-hour detention order and will be brought before a pre-trial judge within the legal timeframe for further proceedings.
