On April 2, 1999, Serbian military and police forces forcibly separated hundreds of Albanian men and boys from a group of 1,500 displaced civilians in Kralan, Gjakova. The women, children, and elderly were ordered to leave for Albania, while 86 civilians, including 11 minors, were taken away—never to be seen alive again.
🔹 Mass Graves and Unanswered Questions: In 2013, the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) filed a criminal complaint against Yugoslav Army officers, linking them to the crime. In Serbia’s Bajina Bašta, remains of 18 victims were discovered in a mass grave near Perućac Lake, but no one has been convicted.
🔹 Calls for Accountability: In 2014, the Association “Family and Hope” urged The Hague Tribunal to investigate the massacre. To this day, no perpetrator has been prosecuted.
🔹 The Fight for Justice Continues: Survivors and families of victims continue to demand justice, emphasizing that Serbia has yet to take responsibility for the crimes committed during the Kosovo war.
