The Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has commented on the dinner he had last night with the new High Representative of the European Union, Kaja Kallas, who is on an official visit to Kosovo.

In a social media post, Kurti emphasized that during the meeting they discussed the relationship between Kosovo and the EU, progress in reforms, democracy, the economy, and mutual cooperation.

Yesterday, Kallas announced that the EU has begun lifting punitive measures against Kosovo. Kurti described this as a positive step, adding that the measures were imposed unfairly and should be completely removed.

“At the dinner hosted for the High Representative of the European Union, Kaja Kallas, we discussed the relationship between Kosovo and the EU, progress in reforms, democracy and the economy, mutual cooperation, and our path toward integration.

We thank Ms. Kallas for her personal commitment to the removal of restrictive measures and for announcing that the process of lifting them has begun gradually. This is a positive step and good news for the country, even though the measures were imposed unfairly and should be entirely lifted.

The institutions of the Republic of Kosovo are committed and work daily for the rule of law, public safety, and the welfare and services for all our citizens, without distinction.”
