Nait Hasani, MP from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), defended his party leader Memli Krasniqi’s decision to meet with Albin Kurti, the head of Vetëvendosje (LVV), emphasizing that dialogue between political rivals is not only possible but necessary.
“We are not enemies to avoid meetings,” Hasani told KosovaPress, referring to the ongoing talks between the two leaders.
While acknowledging the meeting, Hasani stressed that PDK maintains its political stance, which has been evident in the six consecutive votes against LVV’s candidate for Assembly Speaker, a key step needed to constitute the Parliament and start the countdown for forming a new government after the February 9 elections.
“We have our position,” he added firmly.
The LVV candidate, Albulena Haxhiu, has repeatedly failed to secure the necessary 61 votes to be elected Speaker.
