The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, held his first bilateral meeting as part of the Warsaw Security Forum with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Baiba Braze.
According to a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister, Kurti thanked the minister for Latvia’s contribution to the security of Kosovo through its participation in NATO’s mission in Kosovo, KFOR.
It was also noted that Kurti briefed Minister Braze on the developments in Kosovo and its relations with Serbia, including a mention of the attack in Banjska.
“During the meeting, they also discussed regional developments and the security situation on the European continent, as Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine continues, and the role and responsibility that European countries have in unconditionally supporting Ukraine in its fight for liberation, territorial integrity, sovereignty, and democracy.”
“Additionally, Prime Minister Kurti informed Minister Braze about the developments in Kosovo, the relations with Serbia, the risks it poses to the Western Balkans due to its close ties with Russia, and its direct involvement in organizing and executing the terrorist and paramilitary attack a year ago in Banjska, during which police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed, while the perpetrators of the attack remain free and protected in Serbia and by Serbia,” the statement concluded.
