Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti responded to accusations from Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who blamed him for organizing protests in Serbia.
During a meeting of the General Council of Vetëvendosje (VV), Kurti emphasized that the protests in Serbia are a reflection of dissatisfaction among Serbian citizens themselves, and not a result of interference from Kosovo.
Kurti also stressed the importance of verifying sources of information and filtering potentially misleading or false news. He noted that historical, present, and future tensions with northern neighbors must be understood in the context of denial of war crimes by Serbia, while Kosovo strives for EU and NATO integration, contrasting with Serbia’s orientation towards Russia.
He stated:
“You saw that Vučić accused me of organizing and directing the protests there. This is not surprising; it happens with all dictators who have detached themselves from their people, whom they oppress and do not trust. In circumstances where the leader does not trust the people, everything seems to be orchestrated from the outside. Aleksandar Vučić is being confronted by protests organized by the people of Serbia, not the Prime Minister of Kosovo.”
