The Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Memli Krasniqi, has accepted the invitation of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, for a working meeting on Monday.
This has been confirmed by the PDK spokesperson, Faton Abdullahu.
Abdullahu said that PDK’s position is clear, according to him, the only way out is early parliamentary elections.
“The Democratic Party of Kosovo has accepted Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s invitation for a working meeting on Monday, and I can confirm that Chairman Memli Krasniqi will participate in this meeting,” said Abdullahu.
“Our position as PDK is clear and consistent – Kosovo is in crisis in every field and the only way out is early parliamentary elections, which must be held as soon as possible. Therefore, the participation of Mayor Krasniqi in this meeting will be for the purpose of discussing the possibility of setting a date for new elections”.
Prime Minister Kurti apparently decided to reduce tensions with the opposition, inviting the leaders of the three opposition parliamentary parties to a working dinner on Monday. In the letter sent by Memli Krasniqi, Lumir Abdixhik and Ramush Haradinaj, there is no mention of setting the date of the elections or the dissolution of the Assembly.
There it is indicated that the steps to fulfill the remaining legislative agenda for the spring session of the Assembly will be discussed.
During this year, the opposition leaders have repeatedly said that they meet with Prime Minister Kurti only to set the date of the elections and the dissolution of the Assembly.
