A large field fire broke out this afternoon near the City Cemetery in Pristina, spreading across a significant area and putting several nearby homes at risk.
According to the Directorate for Security and Emergency Management in Pristina, the fire is suspected to have been caused by the burning of agricultural residue.
The flames damaged several agricultural plots, orchards and auxiliary structures. However, the rapid response of the Professional Firefighting Brigade prevented the fire from spreading toward residential properties and brought the blaze under control.
Authorities praised the firefighters for their swift intervention and professionalism in protecting residents, property and the surrounding environment.
The Directorate for Security and Emergency Management has urged citizens not to burn agricultural residue, grass or other waste in open areas, warning that current conditions can allow even a small fire to spread rapidly and cause serious damage or endanger lives and property.
