The National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo (IKSHPK) announced that it is continuing to monitor the quality of drinking water and has once again warned citizens supplied by the Badoc Water Plant not to consume the water due to excessive levels of manganese.
“Recent laboratory analyses show manganese values that exceed the permitted concentration limit of 0.05 mg/l set by Administrative Instruction No. 10/2021 on Drinking Water Quality. The results also surpass the health standard of 0.3–0.4 mg/l, above which the element may pose risks to human health,” the IKSHPK stated.
For details on specific streets and water distribution schedules via water tankers, citizens are advised to follow official announcements from KRU Prishtina.
On September 1, 2025, the institute had already issued an appeal to residents supplied from the Badoc reservoir to avoid drinking the water until further notice, after detecting rising levels of manganese in samples from the area.
