The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has announced the 25th anniversary of the massacre in the city of Vushtrri.
Osmani wrote that on May 22, 1999, the genocidal regime of Serbia tried to exterminate the Albanian residents on “Abdullah Shabani” street, in Vushtrri.
“After forcibly evicting the residents from their homes, 68 of them, including children and the elderly, held them hostage in Kahriman Pasoma’s house and after cruel torture, killed them.
Other residents, the Serbian criminal regime gathered them in the sports hall and in the prison of Smrekonica, where after torture and looting they forcibly deported them to Albania”, wrote Osmani.
Osmani has added that they tried to hide the traces of the crime, as the bodies of the majority of those killed were found in the mass cemetery in Batajnica, Serbia.
