Former Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has called on citizens to join a protest march scheduled for Thursday, October 1, in support of the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).
In a video published on his Facebook profile, Haradinaj described the first-instance convictions of the former KLA leaders as unacceptable and unjust, and urged citizens to join the march at 4:00 p.m. in Prishtina’s main square.
“I invite you to join us tomorrow at 4 p.m. in the capital’s square, Prishtina, in defense of the just war of the KLA. The convictions of the KLA leaders are unacceptable and unjust. Not in my name, not in the name of the people of Kosovo. By defending the just liberation war, we defend our homeland,” Haradinaj said.
The October 1 march has been organized amid continued reactions in Kosovo to the September 16 first-instance judgment against former KLA leaders Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi. The KLA War Veterans Organization has also called on veterans and citizens to participate in the march.
