Naim Qelaj, the Ombudsperson of the Republic of Kosovo, stated during an appearance on Frontal on T7 that the report prepared by British experts on the Kosovo Specialist Chambers has sparked significant debate and “opened the eyes of the funding states.”
“There has been misinformation coming from the court itself and from the representatives of the states financing it. I believe the report has opened their eyes. The reactions have been interesting; many questions have been raised, and numerous comments have been made. Naturally, there have also been criticisms of the report, which is to be expected,” the Ombudsperson said.
Qelaj emphasized that the report has generated discussion not only among the public but also within diplomatic circles.
“It has sparked debate even within diplomatic structures,” he added.
His comments come amid ongoing discussions regarding the work, transparency, accountability, and procedures of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, which continue to draw attention both in Kosovo and among the international actors supporting the institution.
