One Year After the Attack in Banjskë, Minister Maqedonci Issues Alarm About Threat from Terrorist Groups

The Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, has once again raised the alarm about the potential risk posed by armed groups.

According to him, such groups supported by structures in Serbia could repeat the terrorist attack in Kosovo, similar to the one in Banjskë last year.

“There is always a risk that groups like Radoiçiq’s group, and the group itself, could carry out a similar terrorist activity with political aims, always supported by structures in Serbia. As long as Radoiçiq’s group and other criminal and terrorist groups operate freely in Serbia, furthermore being trained and developing their activities there, we assess that there may still be similar risks,” he emphasized.

Minister Maqedonci stated that conditions have been created in Kosovo to prevent these risks, noting that the increased number of KFOR troops along the border with Serbia is a significant help.

“It should also be emphasized that many conditions have now been established to prevent this from happening, and these conditions have been created by our institutions as well as by the increased presence of KFOR troops along the border with Serbia. Recently, there has been an increase in the number of KFOR troops, especially in the border area. This has been done precisely to prevent the entry of such groups into Kosovo,” he declared.
