Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, speaking from the “Adem Jashari” barracks in Pristina on the 28th anniversary of the KLA Epic, where the KSF formations were paraded, emphasized that the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) is the rightful successor of the KLA.

“The Kosovo Liberation Army was the voice of an oppressed people. It represented the organization of courage and hope rising against injustice. It was the national conscience that refused to remain silent. The March ’98 Epic is proof that freedom is won through sacrifice, unity, and faith in our right to live freely in our ancestral lands. Today, our pride is not only rooted in the past. It marches before us with a modern uniform, high professionalism, and unwavering dedication to our Republic. The Kosovo Security Force is the worthy heir of the KLA. It carries the ideal of freedom in its heart and the responsibility for the country’s security in its hands. Trained to the highest international standards, equipped with modern capacities, and staffed with professionally prepared personnel, the KSF is ready for any challenge. The KSF is not only capable of defending the homeland at all times, but is also prepared to contribute to international peace and global security missions,” said Osmani.

She also highlighted that in Prekaz, the legendary commander Adem Jashari and his family turned their home into a fortress of resistance, and their blood into a seal of freedom.

“In this magnificent event commemorating the KLA Epic at the ‘Adem Jashari’ barracks, we recall the price of freedom and the pledge that allows us to live freely and with dignity today. On this land once pierced by the gunfire of liberty, stands proudly the ‘Adem Jashari’ barracks—a name that is not merely institutional, but above all a testament. It is an eternal reminder of a figure who became a symbol of national perpetuity: the legendary commander Adem Jashari and the entire Jashari family. They did not choose the easy path; they chose sacrifice, confrontation, and above all, eternity. In Prekaz, the legendary commander Adem Jashari and his family transformed their home into a fortress of resistance, and their blood into the seal of our freedom and independence. The Jashari family is the altar of national freedom and the pride of every Albanian,” she said.
