Following the Olympic Games, Kosovo will also participate in the Paralympic Games in Paris. Kosovo will be represented by athlete Grevist Bytyqi from Malisheva, who received the state flag today from President Vjosa Osmani.

This moment marks a historic step for Paralympic sports in Kosovo, as it is the first time the country will be represented at this major international event.

During the meeting with the Kosovo Paralympic Committee delegation, President Osmani expressed her enthusiasm and pride in Kosovo’s dignified representation on the international stage.

“Through the handover of this flag, I want to show the support of the entire people of Kosovo for this representation. We will all cheer for you, and we will all stand with you. We are proud that Kosovo will be represented at the Paralympic Games,” emphasized President Osmani.

President Osmani also highlighted the significance of Kosovo’s membership in the International Paralympic Committee, calling it a historic success that enabled this representation.

On the other hand, the President of the Kosovo Paralympic Committee, Njomza Emini, expressed her gratitude and pride in the committee’s tireless work and everyone who contributed, including coach Adrian and others who helped reach this special moment.

“This moment is the fruit of our joint efforts, the battles won, and above all, the belief in the values we represent as a Paralympic movement,” said Emini.

She added that with Grevist Bytyqi, a new era begins for Paralympic sports in the country, describing him as a pioneer of a long journey that many future para-athletes will follow.

The Kosovo team, under the coordination of the Kosovo Paralympic Committee, will make its debut at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
