During her participation at the Munich Security Conference, Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani met with the EU’s new envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Peter Sørensen, marking their first official meeting since the Danish diplomat assumed his role.
Commitment to Mutual Recognition
Osmani emphasized that Kosovo remains committed to working with its allies to ensure the dialogue process concludes with mutual recognition while safeguarding the sovereignty, constitutional order, and territorial integrity of Kosovo.
“We will continue working with our allies to ensure this process concludes with mutual recognition and the protection of our country’s sovereignty,” Osmani stated.
Sørensen’s Role and Mandate
Sørensen, who took office earlier this month, has been appointed with a 13-month mandate focused exclusively on the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, unlike his predecessor Miroslav Lajčák, who also handled broader Western Balkans issues.
His primary task will be overseeing the implementation of the Ohrid Agreement, a key aspect of the EU-facilitated talks between Prishtina and Belgrade.
