President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani visited the city of Shkodra today, where she was warmly received by the city’s mayor, Benet Beci.
Following the visit, President Osmani emphasized the historical and cultural importance of Shkodra, describing it as a city that has played a pivotal role in shaping Albanian national identity.
In her statement, Osmani said that “Shkodra has given so much to the Albanian nation and has always stood as a cradle of our tradition and national identity.”
Her visit comes on the eve of 28 November – Flag Day, a symbolic date that unites Albanians everywhere. Osmani highlighted that celebrating this day in Shkodra carries a special significance, given the city’s enduring contribution to Albanian culture, resilience, and heritage.
“Thank you for the warm hospitality in Shkodra, the city of culture, honor, and Albanian steadfastness, Mayor Beci. It is a pleasure to visit Shkodra on the eve of Flag Day, a day that brings together all Albanians into one heart,” Osmani said.
The visit was part of the broader celebrations leading up to Albania’s national holiday, reinforcing the strong cultural and historical ties between Kosovo and Albania.
