Yesterday around 15:30 at the Merdare border crossing, Kosovo authorities discovered a total of €51,170 in undeclared cash in the hand luggage of four Serbian nationals attempting to leave the country on foot.
Each individual was carrying more than €10,000, surpassing the legal limit that must be declared at border crossings.
Customs officials took over the case and issued a customs offense citation in accordance with the law on undeclared monetary transfers.
This incident highlights ongoing efforts by border authorities to curb illegal financial movements across Kosovo’s borders and enforce transparency in financial transactions.
