OVL-UÇK sends official letters to foreign diplomats regarding treatment at the Specialist Chambers

The Organization of War Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army (OVL-UÇK) announced that it has sent official letters to a large number of international diplomats, including representatives of the EU and the USA, concerning the process at the Specialist Chambers in The Hague, reports Rks News.

In a media statement, OVL-UÇK expressed concern over the treatment of their fellow fighters by these chambers and called for equal justice and respect in accordance with European and international values.

Among the personalities who received the letters are Eliot Engel, former U.S. Congressman; Ritchie Torres, member of the U.S. House of Representatives; Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy; as well as MEPs Lukas Mandl and Thijs Reuten.

The full list of recipients also includes Agnes Callamard, Secretary-General of Amnesty International; Tirana Hassan, Director of Human Rights Watch; the EU Ombudsperson Teresa Anjinho; and the Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Gerard McGurk.

“In these letters, OVL-UÇK has expressed our concerns regarding the treatment of our fellow fighters by the Specialist Chambers, requesting equal justice and respectful treatment in line with European and international values,” OVL-UÇK stated.
