Vlora Çitaku, the General Secretary of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), announced today in a press conference that the PDK will hold its General Convention on June 21, 2025. The convention will have an electoral character.
Çitaku emphasized that this, the eleventh convention, is a significant moment for the party, not only as a statutory obligation but as a confirmation of PDK’s democratic strength and internal unity.
PDK’s Progress Under Krasniqi’s Leadership
“Under the leadership of Chairman Memli Krasniqi, the last four years have been years of work, reform, and resurgence for PDK. We have achieved significant victories in local elections, substantially increased citizen support in the February 9 elections, and made great strides towards the internationalization of our party,” Çitaku stated.
She also announced that Memli Krasniqi, the current Chairman of PDK, is the sole candidate for Party Leader at this Convention. This candidacy, she said, confirms the unity, support, and trust in his vision and leadership.
PDK’s Future Vision
“The Democratic Party of Kosovo is a party with state-building experience, a constructive history, and the capacity to lead Kosovo towards the next chapter of development and Euro-Atlantic integration. Therefore, with this Convention, we are not just choosing the direction of the party, but we are preparing for the leadership of the country,” Çitaku affirmed.
The General Secretary of the Democratic Party of Kosovo added that the party’s next victory begins on June 21 and will continue with the local elections on October 12.
