Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez criticized American billionaire Elon Musk today for interfering in European politics, accusing him of undermining democracy.

“The international far-right, which we have been confronting in Spain for years, is now led, in this case, by the richest man on the planet. They are openly attacking our institutions, inciting hatred, and openly supporting the successors of Nazism in Germany,” Sánchez stated during an event marking the 50th anniversary of dictator Francisco Franco’s death.

Musk’s Controversial Comments on Social Media

Musk recently commented on the platform X (formerly Twitter) regarding cases of sexual assaults in northern Spain, particularly media reports suggesting that such incidents are primarily committed by foreign nationals, according to Reuters.

Earlier, Musk accused UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer of being complicit in group assaults in Britain, alleging that Starmer failed to prosecute grooming gangs while serving as head of public prosecutions. Musk claimed this failure was in exchange for votes, referencing supposed findings from ongoing investigations.

He also called for the arrest of UK’s Deputy Minister for Violence Against Women, Jess Phillips, in a series of posts on X.

Musk’s Support for Far-Right Politics

Last month, Musk openly endorsed Germany’s far-right party, Alternative for Germany (AfD), ahead of parliamentary elections scheduled for February 23. This endorsement has added to the growing criticism of his political influence in Europe.
