The Kosovo Police have successfully concluded a significant operation in the village of Joshevik, located in the Banjska area of Zvečan. This operation, which is part of ongoing efforts to maintain security and prevent illegal activities in the region, resulted in the confiscation of several dangerous weapons and explosives.
During the operation, specialized police units seized:
- Three rifles,
- One pistol,
- A significant amount of ammunition,
- And two bombs.
The presence of these weapons highlights the persistent security challenges in the area, which has seen a number of similar incidents in the past. The operation was conducted with the aim of neutralizing potential threats and ensuring the safety of local residents.
Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police, Veton Elshani, stated that one individual is currently being interviewed in connection with the seized items. This interrogation could provide crucial information about the source and intended use of the weapons, as well as any potential links to larger networks of illegal arms trafficking.
The police have intensified their efforts in the northern regions of Kosovo, where tensions have occasionally flared up, to ensure that such dangerous materials do not end up in the wrong hands. This successful operation is a testament to the vigilance and commitment of the Kosovo Police in upholding the rule of law and protecting citizens from potential threats.
