Political entities in Kosovo have entered the final days for submitting lists of parliamentary candidates ahead of the early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, which will be held on June 7, 2026.

According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), the deadline for submitting candidate lists expires on May 12 at midnight, while political parties must complete the application process through the CEC’s electronic platform.

CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi stated that the process is similar to previous elections and includes political parties, coalitions, civic initiatives, and independent candidates.

“The submission of the list of parliamentary candidates must be done through the electronic platform, and the deadline expires on May 12 at 24:00,” Elezi said.

According to CEC data, 27 political entities are expected to participate in the June 7 elections, including 22 political parties, 3 coalitions, 1 civic initiative, and 1 independent candidate.

In comparison, previous parliamentary elections saw a higher number of registered entities and candidates, reflecting changes in political participation over time.

The CEC is expected to begin the verification and certification process of the final candidate lists after the deadline expires.
