The Chair of Kosovo’s Central Election Commission (CEC), Kreshnik Radoniqi, has commented on the electricity problems that have emerged at several polling stations during the elections. He expressed concern about the possibility of power outages, emphasizing that he hopes electricity will not be interrupted during evening hours, when darkness falls.
Radoniqi stated that he cannot guarantee there will be no power cuts, but assured that everything will be done to prevent the voting process from being halted due to a lack of electricity.
“We hope there will be no power outages during the hours when it gets dark, but we will have to see how the situation develops. Such a problem could undermine the integrity of the elections, but we will ensure that voters are not left without the opportunity to vote,” Radoniqi said.
He added that, despite the difficulties, the voting process will continue and that citizens will not be allowed to vote in the dark.
