Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, discussed strengthening strategic cooperation between Tehran and Moscow during a phone call.
According to the Iranian presidency, Pezeshkian also congratulated Putin on his birthday.
During the conversation, Putin emphasized that cooperation between the two countries under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty is continuing despite current developments and events in the region.
The Russian president also referred to efforts by several countries to mediate and reduce tensions, saying that Russia supports these diplomatic initiatives and that Iran can be assured of Moscow’s readiness to provide assistance.
Putin also praised what he described as Iran’s courage in the face of the attacks it is currently facing.
