Prime Minister Edi Rama presented today the “Albania 2030” program, emphasizing the importance of the May 11 elections for granting European passports to Albanians. He stated that only with a strong fourth mandate can the Socialist Party secure Albania’s membership in the EU and offer European passports to Albanian citizens.

“Our message is clear: to give you the EU passport, we need not just a fourth mandate, but a strong mandate, stronger than the three mandates so far,” said Prime Minister Rama. He added that no one else could grant Albanians an EU passport within this decade, stressing that any wavering would hinder the membership process.

Rama highlighted the benefits of the European passport, such as the ability to study and work in any EU country without a work permit and with equal rights. “The European passport will allow movement and work anywhere from Stockholm to Lisbon, offering the same conditions as EU citizens,” he emphasized. “This is a real historic opportunity, an open door. EU membership is there, the EU passport is there,” concluded Rama.

He also presented a new passport model, which he said would be used by Albanian citizens after the country’s accession to the European Union.
