Renowned Kosovar writer Rexhep Qosja has opened up publicly about the passing of his beloved daughter, Edita, who died on July 28 of this year. Through a heartfelt message posted on his Facebook profile, Qosja described the overwhelming sorrow his family is enduring and expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of condolences they have received.

“These days, after the pain of Edita has come to rest and left it with us, are not easy days. These are heavy days for us—days that I wish upon no one,” wrote Qosja, reflecting on the deep personal tragedy.

In his message, he remembered his daughter as a kind, wise, gentle, and noble soul—a mother and grandmother deeply cherished by her family. He extended special thanks to the numerous individuals and institutions from all Albanian-speaking regions who reached out to offer comfort and support.

“Your heartfelt condolences have been deeply felt—whether on the day of the funeral or in the days that followed, through visits, phone calls, emails, or digital messages. We are truly grateful for the strength and courage you have given us,” he wrote.

Qosja concluded with a deeply human reflection: that this loss has not only taught him the immeasurable depth of parental love and grief, but also the profound importance and nobility of shared human empathy.
