Ukraine has said it shot down a total of 29 kamikaze drones, of the Shahed type, with which Russia attacked Kharkiv on Monday morning.
Ukraine’s Armed Forces said Russia also fired an Iskandar-M ballistic missile, but did not say whether it was fired.
The attack came a day after 11 people were killed by Russian strikes in Moscow’s offensive in the Kharkiv region, according to officials.
Odesa, Mykolaiv, Poltava and Lviv regions were also targets of the drone attacks, according to the Armed Forces.
This spring, Russia has stepped up drone and missile attacks across Ukraine, causing extensive damage to its energy infrastructure.
Ukrainian forces shot down all 90 Shahed drones launched by Russia in the past week, Ukrainian military spokesman Dmytro Lykhoviy said.
