Vetëvendosje MP Saranda Bogujevci has responded after her name was mentioned by the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), who said they would support her as Speaker of the Assembly if proposed by her party.

Bogujevci said this suggestion came from “those who don’t even have the right to propose.”

She called it “interesting” how someone who previously labeled her as an “amateur” now considers her the preferred person for the role of Speaker.

“It’s interesting where they want to take the debate and public discourse—trying to create a narrative among the public about our political actions. A proposal coming from those who don’t have the right to propose, from those who want to determine the course of our politics but don’t want anyone interfering in theirs. And then there are the TV studios, where up until yesterday they didn’t leave a single bad word unsaid—calling me an amateur, saying I was unfit to lead a session. And now suddenly, I’m the preferred person for the position of Speaker. Very interesting,” Bogujevci wrote on Facebook.

“This whole victimhood narrative from our painful past—where one moment they portray you as being used by others, and the next moment they act like they feel sorry for you and want to offer you a position. When it comes to intellectual, professional, and political respect, and acknowledgment of your capability—it’s zero.”

Bogujevci stated that no one can dictate to her party who should sit in the Speaker’s chair, adding that they will continue to support the nomination of Albulena Haxhiu for that role.
