Serbian national Sasha Zlatković has been detained for inciting ethnic hatred and intolerance.

He was apprehended on July 24 at the Merdare border crossing after posting a video on social media insulting the UÇK logo and Albanian mothers.

Under the order of Peja prosecutor Dorjan Juniku, Zlatković was detained while attempting to leave Kosovo.

Quick actions by the Deçan Police gathered necessary evidence leading to his arrest.

According to the local portal Njeshi, after 48 hours in detention, Zlatković admitted the video’s authenticity to the prosecutor and then appeared before the Basic Court of Peja.

Prosecutor Juniku, citing Article 141 of the Criminal Procedure Code, requested pre-trial detention for inciting hatred and division, which the court approved.

Zlatković will remain in custody for 30 days, with his case referred to the Special Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kosovo for further investigation.
