Yesterday, around 15:30, on the Dobrosinë-Gjilan road, the Task Force unit was informed that two vehicles with Serbian license plates were entering Kosovo illegally from Serbia.

According to the media statement, the Task Force officials alerted other units, including customs officers, and around 16:45 in Graçanicë, the vehicles suspected of smuggling goods were signaled to stop by Kosovo Customs officials.

“The drivers of the vehicles did not comply with the orders from the uniformed customs officials in an official vehicle. Only one vehicle was stopped with the driver, V.B., a 36-year-old Serbian national. The other vehicle, driven by F.M., managed to flee in an unknown direction, causing several accidents,” the statement said.

The statement further notes that in coordination with the justice authorities, the suspect’s premises and house in Hajvali-Prishtina were searched, where goods (electronic equipment) of Serbian origin were found, suspected of being smuggled into the country.

The case is being handled by the Kosovo Customs units in cooperation with the state prosecutor, who has arrived at the scene and issued a decision to detain the arrested suspect for 48 hours.
