Spain has agreed to cooperate with the U.S. military, according to the White House press secretary, as reported by the BBC.
A day earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to halt all trade with Spain after the country initially barred the United States from using its military bases as part of operations related to Iran.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Spain has now heard President Trump’s message “loud and clear.” She added that the U.S. president expects all European allies to cooperate with the ongoing operation.
The development signals a rapid diplomatic shift following heightened tensions between Washington and Madrid over military coordination.
