Srpska Lista announced on Sunday that it will not participate in the voting for the dismissal of the Albanian mayors of the four majority-Serbian municipalities in the north of Kosovo, scheduled for April 21. A few hours after this decision, the Party of Serbs in Kosovo reacted by stating that Srpska Lista no longer has the power to rig elections or blackmail voters.
“Srpska Lista, with Mr. Zllatan Elek’s statement, admits that it no longer has the power to steal elections and blackmail Serbian voters,” emphasizes the Party of Serbs in Kosovo.
This party assesses that Srpska Lista “experienced its defeat and its complete political end.”
Their reaction further states that “Serbs do not trust Srpska Lista and that SL never had 99% support, but it was the most brutal lie that this party spread through its media and that it believed itself,” declares the Party of Serbs in Kosovo.
“The position of Srpska Lista is not to participate in the referendum called by Albin Kurti [Prime Minister of Kosovo], because he did everything to make it fail,” said the president of Srpska Lista, Zllatan Elek, on Sunday at a press conference in North Mitrovica.
He said that “unrealizable procedures” have been set for the April 21 vote and that the voter lists “do not reflect the real situation on the ground” and that the number of Albanians on the voter lists “has increased.”
