Starmer to Host Summit on Ukraine This Week

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, has invited dozens of European leaders and representatives of the European Union to a summit he will organize on March 2nd in London. The meeting aims to “move forward” actions regarding Ukraine and security, his office announced.

Ahead of the main summit, Starmer will host a phone conversation with the Baltic states and will later welcome Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to his office, where they will discuss the ongoing war with Russia.

“The Prime Minister will use this summit to advance European action on Ukraine – signaling our unwavering support for a fair and lasting peace agreement that ensures Ukraine’s sovereignty and security in the future,” said his office.

Leaders from across Europe, including from France, Germany, Denmark, Italy, as well as from Turkey, NATO, and the EU, have been invited to the London summit, Starmer’s office added.

On Thursday, Starmer met with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House to discuss the war in Ukraine. He has also invited leaders from the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and Romania to the summit.
