Human remains have been discovered in the village of Negroc in the municipality of Drenas during an excavation and exhumation operation. Authorities believe they may belong to a person who went missing during the 1998–1999 war.
According to the Kosovo Police, the operation was carried out on 16.04.2026 by relevant units at the location of the village’s martyrs’ cemetery.
During the digging process, bones believed to belong to at least one person were found. The remains have been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IFM) for further examination and identification.
Competent authorities are handling the case, while investigations continue to determine the identity of the victim and the circumstances of death.
