The Head of the Office of the European Union in Kosovo, Tomas Szunyog, said that the European Union is ready to remove the punitive measures against Kosovo, but this, according to him, is based on the steps that the Government of Kosovo will take to complete the conditions.
“The measures are formulated in the statement of June 3 of last year and there are conclusions of the council in December of last year which present the conditions for this. But, the EU is ready to remove the measures, based on the results of the steps taken by the Kosovar side”, he said.
Ambassador Szunyog added that he expects from the Government the establishment of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority as a legal obligation.
“This is a legal obligation of Kosovo and of course we expect this”, said Szunyog.
