Xhafer Tahiri, the LDK candidate for mayor of Vushtrri, has reached a coalition agreement with Vetëvendosje’s candidate Sylejman Meholli for the upcoming November 9 runoff.
The signing of the agreement was attended by LVV leader Albin Kurti, while LDK’s executive board reportedly convened to approve the move.
In the October 12 local elections, Vushtrri’s mayoral race went to a runoff between the PDK and Vetëvendosje candidates.
The first-round results were:
- Ferit Idrizi (PDK): 45.56%
- Sylejman Meholli (LVV): 30.63%
- Xhafer Tahiri (LDK): 19.72%
This coalition positions LVV and LDK to potentially secure the mayoral seat by combining their voter bases for the runoff.
