The death toll from the fire that broke out on Tuesday in a hotel in a Turkish resort has risen to 76.
At least 51 others were injured as the fire engulfed the hotel, forcing guests to jump out of windows or attempt to use bedsheets to escape the building, reports The Guardian.
The fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the restaurant of a 12-story hotel in the Bolu province in northwestern Turkey.
Authorities have arrested four people, including the hotel owner, as part of an investigation into the cause of the fire.
Resort representatives have stated that 238 guests were present in the hotel at the time.
Two of the victims died after jumping from the building in panic, according to Bolu Governor Abdulaziz Aydin.
