The terrorist attack in Banjska, the court continued the detention of the 3 suspects for another two months

The Basic Court of Pristina has continued the measure of detention for two more months against the 3 suspects for the terrorist attack on September 24, 2023 in Banjska of the Municipality of Zveçan, Vladimir Toliq, Blagoje Spasojevic and Dushan Maksimovic, Anadolu reports.

The spokesperson of the Basic Court, Mirlinda Gashi, told Anadolu that the continuation of detention for the 3 suspects in the Banjska case came after the request from the Special Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kosovo.

“We inform you that after the request of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo for the continuation of the measure of detention in the criminal case against the defendants V.T., B.S and D.M., the Basic Court in Pristina – Special Department has made a decision and has approved the request of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo, so that the measure of detention of the three defendants has been extended for a duration of 2 months”, said Gashi.

All three suspects, who have been in custody since September of last year, are charged with the criminal offenses “Serious offenses against the constitutional order and security of the Republic of Kosovo” and “Committing terrorist offences”.

Based on the initial request of the Prosecutor’s Office for the determination of the measure of detention, they are suspected of illegally entering Kosovo together with a group of persons, in an organized and armed manner and with dozens of vehicles filled with weapons, ammunition and military clothing.

On September 24, 2023, they blocked the road in Banjska with two trucks, in order to ambush Kosovo Police officials, and then attacked them with grenades and weapons, where the police sergeant was killed on the bridge near the Banjska Monastery. Afrim Bunjaku, while the police official, Alban Rashiti, was injured.

For the September 24 attack, the former Serbian politician from Kosovo, Milan Radoicic, took over the organization of the terrorist group, while later the Kosovo Police, in addition to the tools and weapons confiscated from this group, also confiscated a part of Radoicic’s property in Kosovo.
