Threatening emails were sent to several state institutions in Albania on Friday, including the School of Magistrates, warning of bomb attacks and threatening to kill Albanians unless Kosovo is recognized as part of Serbia, according to A2 CNN.

The messages were reportedly sent from an email address outside official government systems. The sender claimed to be the leader of a Serbian militia and alleged that an explosive device had been placed inside an institutional building.

“Hello. I am the leader of the Serbian Militia. We have come to take revenge on you. I have personally just planted an explosive device in your building. The explosion will take place in one hour. We will kill Albanians until you recognize Kosovo as Serbian territory,” the message stated.

The email also included a warning to recipients not to click on links or open attachments from unknown senders.

Following reports of the threats, Albania’s State Police launched verification procedures to assess the situation and identify those responsible for sending the messages.

Authorities reportedly suspect the warnings may be hoaxes. However, the investigation is ongoing, and no confirmed information about the sender’s identity or the credibility of the threats was provided in the report.

The incident comes amid continued political sensitivities surrounding Kosovo’s status and relations between Albania and Serbia.
