The session started with the singing of the state and national anthems, while the president of the country, Vjosa Osmani, was present, apart from the deputies.
The fallen were also honored with a minute of silence.
In the speech of the occasion, President Vjosa Osmani said that the hero Kodra was “the right hand of the legendary commander Adem Jashari”.
“Together with him, they not only founded the core of the Kosovo Liberation Army, they conducted training in Albania, to be ready to defend the homeland”, said Osmani.
She emphasized that the attacks of the genocidal regime of Serbia on the villages of Drenica were aimed at exterminating the Albanian people.
“Faced with the criminal regime of Serbia, Ilaz Kodra and his comrades remained determined to fight for the ideals of freedom, justice and state dignity,” she said.
The head of state emphasized that Kosovo was a victim.
