Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived at Mar-a-Lago, the Florida residence of former U.S. President Donald Trump in Palm Beach, for high-level talks on peace.
The Ukrainian leader was greeted by Trump with a handshake before entering the Mediterranean-style estate.
Trump had previously stated that the discussions would take place in Mar-a-Lago’s dining room, adorned with framed artwork and murals.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted Trump’s proposal to continue efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine through two specially created working groups. Russian presidential advisor Yuri Ushakov confirmed this to RIS Novosti:
“The Russian president agreed with the American proposal to continue working on a resolution to the Ukrainian issue within the two specially established working groups.”
Ushakov also announced that Putin and Trump have agreed to hold another phone conversation following the American president’s meeting with Zelensky. According to the Tass agency, Ushakov said:
“Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump have agreed to speak again soon by phone after the U.S. president’s meeting at Mar-a-Lago with the Ukrainian team tonight.”
