The Eaton Fire near Pasadena in Los Angeles County has claimed the lives of two people and left several others injured, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department Chief during a Wednesday press conference, as reported by Gazeta Online Reporteri.net.

The fire, which has nearly doubled in size since the last update, now covers 2,227 acres and remains completely uncontained.

Challenges in Containment Efforts

Similar to other wildfires raging in Southern California, the Eaton Fire presents significant challenges for containment. Firefighters are battling harsh terrain and extreme wind speeds, making firefighting efforts particularly difficult.

Over 700 firefighters have been deployed to combat the blaze, which officials describe as “dangerously burning in both eastern and western directions.”

One firefighter was injured while working to extinguish the flames, further highlighting the perilous conditions on the ground.

Evacuation Preparations and Warnings

Residents in surrounding areas have been advised to stay prepared for potential evacuations as the fire continues to spread unpredictably.

The incident adds to the ongoing wildfire crisis across Los Angeles, with thousands of residents on high alert.
