Two people have tragically lost their lives in separate skiing accidents in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland, over the weekend.
On Friday, a 55-year-old man fell while skiing with his son in the Tschiertschen ski area, located 7 kilometers southeast of Chur. After the fall, the skier managed to reach his holiday home on his own, where he sadly passed away the following day. Authorities have issued a statement requesting witnesses, particularly a blonde woman who approached the man and offered assistance after the fall.
The second fatal accident occurred on Sunday on the slopes of Davos-Parsenn. A 24-year-old German skier collided with another skier near the Kreuzweg ski lift in the municipality of Klosters. Following the collision, the young skier crashed into an informational sign, which, although covered in foam rubber, did not prevent the German skier from losing consciousness.
Despite rapid intervention from rescue teams and Rega (Swiss Air Rescue), the young man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The second skier involved in the accident sustained only minor injuries. Local authorities have opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding the tragic event, as reported by the canton’s police.
