Senior officials from the Biden administration are in close contact with Syrian rebels who overthrew Assad’s regime, according to the White House, as reported by Sky News.
Spokesperson John Kirby also mentioned that the U.S. is in contact with Israeli officials, as Israeli forces continue to occupy parts of Syria.
He emphasized that Israel had insisted that the troops moving and the airstrikes on military targets were merely “temporary measures to ensure their security.”
Kirby also added that Washington wants to ensure that the Syrian people are able to determine their own future.
